Tropical Beauty of Ton Sai and Loh Dalum Bay

After having breakfast at a nearby coffee shop, we headed west and follow the Tsunami evacuation signs that will lead us up to the viewpoint. The short but intense climb to the Viewpoint (186 meters above sea level) is a "must do" on Phi Phi. This is an excellent introduction that will give you a nice overview of this mysterious island, which only the eastern part is inhabited. We finally arrived at the entrance and started our 300m vertical climb. The short hike will take about an hour or maybe more depending on your fitness level.

The initial climb was not that easy, some stairs are steep and we had to stop every 20 steps to catch our breath. Reminiscing our Backpacking Batad | Banaue trip.

That island is Phi Phi Leh where Maya Bay is located. We finally arrived at the Viewpoint entrance and we had to pay 20 THB per person entrance fee.

Exhausting but rewarding. We spent 30 min here before going to the final viewpoint. The final viewpoint is still a vertical climb estimated around 50-60 steps. Thirty minutes after and we're ready to go.

Stunning View!

Finally we arrived to our final destination. Ton Sai bay is on the left and the opposite side is Loh Dalum bay. We spent 2 hours here taking pictures and enjoying this magnificent raw beauty of nature.

Eating ice pops in the viewpoint Phuket

Pee Pee Viewpoint café offers a good supply of water, soft drinks and snacks. Remember no shoes and slippers allowed. We bought some drinks and some Popsicle to beat the heat. We paid a stiff price for the bottled drinks and snacks. Everything is expensive in Phi Phi.

Sunrise and Sunset Schedule

If you plan to enjoy a romantic sunset from the top of Pee Pee viewpoint, just be aware that this is a popular attraction on Phi Phi. It can get very crowded, especially in the high season when it would be best to get to the viewpoint early to get a good vantage point.

Phi Phi’s local wildlife residents

Highest point of the island, Phi Phi Viewpoint is the place where the whole population has to go in case of a tsunami warning. Everywhere in the island, "Tsunami Evacuation Route" signs can be seen. Even with all the hype, it doesn't disappoint us. Some say that Phi Phi is over rated, overly expensive and hugely over crowded especially during high season, but the beauty and uniqueness of the island enthralled us. We will definitely come back in god's time.

Tuklasera Tips

• Wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes or sandals and take some refreshments like a bottle or two of water to make the walk to Phi Phi Viewpoint a bit easier.
• If your planning to view the sunset at the viewpoint, just remember to bring with you a flashlight. It can be dangerous on your way down.

Rundown of Expenses

• Viewpoint entrance fee - Php 20.00 / pax
• Bottled water - Php 60.00
