I heard a lot about Häagen-Dazs but never tried one ever since, an ice cream lover though, maybe because never had the chance to find it to any grocery stores here in Davao City. So, I began reading on where could I actually get to taste it... Price wise I must admit, it’s quite costly from the ice cream we were buying and stocking in our refrigerator. So, I suspected it must be very special.... I researched, read and beyond a shadow of doubt I was convinced by its commercial.
Out of intrigue, I pursued my search to where I could get to taste it, hunting it to different malls here in Davao unfortunately nada! Nearest to avail is Cebu and finally promised myself to have my MISSION Häagen-Dazs caramel biscuit and cream. Great!!!! My Hong Kong trip was via Cebu City... TARGET RUSTAN'S at Ayala Center Cebu.
Alas!!!! No caramel biscuit and cream for me, so I tried the macadamia instead, wondering how it really taste. Hmmmmm.... spoonful after spoonful it's really distinctly way too far from the ice cream we used to eat. It’s indeed worth the price.
While inside the plane to Hong Kong, I asked my husband if he can spare sometime hunting for some Haagen Dazs branches and help me accomplish my unfinished mission, finding my treasure Häagen-Dazs CARAMEL BISCUIT AND CREAM! He coolly said "SURE!". We stayed at the airport for few more hours for the bus to arrived and while waiting...

Amazed with all the branded shops, signature clothes, wow no wonder HK is the shopping capital of Asia. While on the road I noticed something too familiar sign... Oh my mission... HAAGEN DAZS! I was like a child hurrying my steps only to find out it was still "CLOSE!", very early indeed. I guess my husband felt my being upset and immediately promised and said "We will just go back tomorrow, after our Macau trip" holding to that promise, I just posed to that close shop instead of ranting. Still craving to taste that new Häagen-Dazs caramel biscuit and cream....
The early bird who catches CLOSE STORES! =) along Harbour City |
I was so excited going to Macau for a Gondola ride at the Grand Canal and at the same time excited going back to Hong Kong for my first caramel biscuit and cream experience, as hubby’s promised.
Macau Macau Macau.... I’m going to Macau! Rode a fast ferry then after an hour, I couldn’t unravel the truth that I was already in Macau =). Felt so favored with our free coaster ride to Venetian hotel and resort. Inside, I couldn’t snag my mouth from saying "wow!" without delay we went to the Grand Canal for my Gondola experience, yes you read it right... I'll be riding the Gondola without hubby but with the 2 Korean girls we met in the coaster, WHY? simply because he offered himself to be our official photographer. While waiting for our turn.... I was very surprised to see Häagen-Dazs shop just few steps from where I was seated, but to my bonus surprise my husband was already holding the cup of my treasure... soooo SWEET!!!!!!!!! and handed it to me... He really knows my weakness, ten years of bearing with my sassy moods and understanding. He really knows me better than myself I guess...

Waiting for my Gondola ride showing off my cup of treasure |
To make my gondola ride more exciting I brought my Häagen-Dazs caramel biscuit and cream with me. Hubby said he will just stay to take pictures of me with my Korean friends.
Our Gondola Ride savoring my cup of treasure--- Häagen-Dazs caramel biscuit and cream. |
After all the walks and hunts for my cup of treasure, I finally taste the new Häagen-Dazs caramel biscuit and cream. What a treat!!! Savoring each mouth watering spoonful of pleasure and a relaxing gondola ride, from the soothing sound of water lapping the sides of the gondola to the eloquent singing of the gondoliers, Hmmm DO NOT DISTURB, slow melting in progress. I even forgot the presence of my husband who was taking pictures of me in as much as I forgot to share it with my Korean friends. That was the effect of my first Häagen-Dazs caramel biscuit and cream experience... I so love it!
Ending my mission in Macau, eventually after a day, at Hong Kong airport, while waiting for our trip back to Cebu with our connecting flight to Davao, dropped by at 7 eleven to buy some gums and was thirsting if I can found some Häagen-Dazs ice cream, it’s very addicting, TADA!!! Found mini cups!!! I cant take the smile on my face.. Knowing I can still have a cup from my ended mission…. This is now the beginning of the end! my Häagen-Dazs mission for life!
